These ranges assume the home is in a reasonably maintained condition. Significant buildup, heavy pet hair, or a home that has not been professionally cleaned in over a year will add time.

What Makes a Cleaning Take Longer

• Heavy buildup in the kitchen — Grease on range hoods, baked-on residue inside ovens, and buildup around burners take significantly more time than a kitchen that gets wiped down regularly.
• Soap scum and hard water stains — Bathroom fixtures, shower glass, and tile with months of buildup require more product and more labor than a routine clean.
• Pet hair — Especially on upholstered furniture, stairs, and carpeted areas. A home with two large dogs takes noticeably longer than a home with no pets.
• Clutter on surfaces — Cleaners need to move items to clean underneath and behind them. More items means more time.
• Inside appliances — Cleaning inside the oven, refrigerator, or microwave is part of deep cleaning but not standard cleaning. This adds meaningful time.
• First-time visits — The first cleaning of a home almost always takes longer than subsequent visits because there is no baseline yet. Recurring visits get faster as the home reaches a maintained state.

Does It Go Faster With More Cleaners?

Yes — but total labor hours stay roughly the same. Two cleaners working two hours completes the same work as one cleaner working four hours. For most standard residential jobs, one or two cleaners is typical. Larger homes or move-out jobs may involve a team of three.

Do You Need to Be Home?

No. Most of our clients are not home during the cleaning. You can provide a key, a garage code, or a lockbox combination, and we handle everything while you are at work or running errands. Your home is returned to you clean.

For a first visit, some clients prefer to be home briefly at the start to walk through preferences. This is completely optional but sometimes helpful for making sure the visit goes exactly the way you want.

How Long Does a Move-Out Cleaning Take?

Move-out cleanings are the most time-intensive type of residential cleaning. Expect 4 to 8 hours depending on size, with larger or heavily used units potentially requiring more. Move-out cleans cover every area a landlord or property manager will inspect: inside the oven and refrigerator, all bathroom fixtures, baseboards, window sills, sliding door tracks, closets, and all floors. The goal is deposit-back condition.

What About Recurring Visits — Do They Get Faster?

Yes, notably. Once your home has been deep-cleaned or had several standard visits, each subsequent cleaning maintains that baseline rather than rebuilding it. Recurring clients typically see 20 to 30% shorter visit times compared to a first-time clean of the same home.

This is one of the practical arguments for recurring service: not only do you get consistent cleanliness, but the visits themselves become more efficient over time.
